Need help for appeal letter before Dec.11

I need to have an appeal filed before Dec 11th if that is correct. My case was on Dec 1. Can I sign a power of attorney to have someone do this for me? How would I go about finding someone to help me? It has been suggested that I also file a motion requesting a stay of proceedings pending appeal. Need help with this as well.
